Image radiology resolution

The resolution of image radiology is limited by the resolution of the input-output fluorescent screen and the ability of the focusing electrode to hold the image as it passes from the input screen to the output screen.For image intensifiers with CsI input screen, the average resolution is 4 line pairs/mm.

The reasons for the resolution reduction originating outside the image intensifier include: scattered radiation in the x-beam received by the input screen;The patient’s motion and the limited size of the focal spot cause the image to be out of focus.
