What can affect the resolution of the image intensifier?
Do you know what affects the resolution of the image intensifier? I will give you a little knowledge about image intensifier today.
The resolution of the image intensifier is limited by the resolution of the input and output screens and the ability of the focus electrodes to hold the image as it passes from the input screen to the output screen. For an image intensifier with an input screen of CsI, the average resolution is 4 line pairs/mm. Reasons for the reduced resolution originating outside the image intensifier include: scattered radiation in the X-ray beam received by the input screen; image sharpening caused by the patient’s motion and the limited size of the focal spot. In addition, the quality of the fluoroscopy image is also affected by the statistical fluctuations in the number of X-rays striking the input screen.
