The input screen is an incident window of X-ray. It consists of thin metal plates with small X-ray absorption by spherical or hyperboloid glass.

Cesium iodide is an X-ray transducer, which can convert X-ray images into fluorescent images.

The output screen is used to convert electronic energy into visible fluorescence.

The shell output window is made of glass or optical fiber panel.
