The image converter is a vacuum electronic device that converts an invisible image into a visible image. In x-ray image intensifier and image converter tubes, when the external radiation image is imaged on the photocathode, the photocathode emits electrons, which are accelerated or focused and accelerated by an electron lens, and bombards the screen to produce a brighter visible image.
