When the image intensifier works, the X-ray produced by the X-ray tube passes through the detected object and appears on the CsI Na screen of the X-ray image intensifier, which makes the screen emit weak light. Due to the different energy absorbed by each part of the object under test, the corresponding weak light and dark images appear on the CsI Na screen. When the image is irradiated on the photocathode, the density distribution of the photocathode is stimulated to produce photoelectrons corresponding to the brightness distribution of the image. When the photoelectrons are focused and accelerated, they are hit on the output screen, and visible light images with reduced size and enhanced brightness are obtained, which can be directly viewed by the human eye or coupled with the camera tube.
