The X-ray absorptivity of the 6″ image intensifier indicates the absorptivity of the phosphor layer of the input screen of the 6″ image intensifier to the X-ray emitted. The image quality of an 6″ image intensifier depends on the resolution and quantum noise of the input screen, as well as the amount of light quantum absorbed by the input screen. The thicker the phosphor layer of the 6″ image intensifier is, the stronger the X-ray absorbability is, but the resolving power decreases. In order to solve this contradiction, bright iodide (CsI (Na) phosphors with high atomic number have been gradually used in the input screen of 6″ image intensifier. Its absorption ability is strong, so that the phosphor can be made thinner, to improve X-ray absorption without reducing the resolution.
